Coming into 2021 from a dismal 2020, as the world changed so did styles for home decorating. The hot colors are grey, green and shades of blue, more on the darker side. The style is more geared towards comfort which is completely understandable after an uncomfortable past year. Moving also in the direction of a more natural look but with bold colors too.
If you're looking to keep your walls on trend this year, there are a few decor styles to keep in mind. Minimalist shapes are very popular for those who want a sleek aesthetic along with retro, earthy palettes and textured finishes like many of my photos are very much trending for 2021.

The Natural Look

This natural look with many grey tones has one of my bright photos from Athens, Greece.  An apartment that has an earthy tone with open spaces can handle such a colorful photo and make it the star attraction in the home. The same can be said for office space because usually the office is lighter in coloring and a bright piece would stand out in an area like that.

Here is another choice to bring out a popular color for 2021, blue. Be it that a natural look is also trending for this year, a photo of mountains and beaches make a great addition to any home too. The layout of your living room should be comfortable and cozy so you feel that you are truly at home in your own space.

Another trending area for decor is a global perspective. Showing off a country that you have either visited or would just like to go to visit in the future is in style this year. My selection of international locations can give your space that look you are searching for in a photo.

Modern Fireplace Trend

Cinque Terre in Italy is on everyone's list of places to go visit. With it's in trend deep blue coloring and amazing landscape scenery, it will add grace and style to any place. Be it that it is in the landscape category it also fits the natural look for 2021 too. Bold colors are another trend this year, almost any of my beach photos can work for you in any of your home, office or work spaces.

Bold Colors, Art Walls

Bold colors, comfort and cozy, keeping blue in your color palette, natural look along with contrasting colors such as adding an orange to the scene. Don't forget about your bedroom when decorating your home. Adding a colorful beach scene for a feeling of serenity into the bedroom is never a bad move.

Beach and water scenes give a place the feeling of serenity when you are home. Plants are a big part of the decor for 2021 also. Adding plants and trees indoors is an easy, mostly inexpensive way of having a natural feel to your home. Again, blue and grey are bold colors for this year.

Eiffel Tower in Paris

In sticking with the bold colors for 2021 and especially blue, this photo of the Eiffel Tower would make an amazing addition to any room. My Time Slice series consists of an individual photo made up of 36 photos taken before, during and after sunset. The iconic Eiffel Tower captures the global perspective, the plants add a natural look and the beauty of the photo speaks for itself.
